At the beginning
The team leader urgently needs prepared materials that the team will use for mailing, for a personal invitation, put at the box office, and hanging on information boards in public places. The team has logos, a description of the project and courses, and a limit for approval and production in one working week because they have to start the application process. They would like the style to maintain a connection with other materials of the organization, but differ from them and reflect the spirit of nature and show a connection with the Bonnies Hofladen.
We set priorities with a project leader and in 3 days made a seven-page PDF document with a description of the project, courses, and class schedule. This file can be used for mailing and creating a code based on it to follow the link from the poster.
For visual separation of information, I chose a 15% change in background brightness, so each course and block of information got its own shade and the color became more saturated the more the user saw the page.
A3 and A4 formats were chosen for the poster so that it can be placed in a pocket for announcements on the door of a store or clinic. The poster received the second priority because, on the one hand, it was first necessary to make a code that would lead to downloading detailed information about the project, and on the other hand, it has fewer design elements and can be quickly made up for printing.
The circles helped separate the course information thematically while duplicating the colors of the partner logos in other elements of the poster helped to keep the whole parts connected both with each other and with other materials.
The project manager suggested taking the format of a postcard as a basis, so the booklet could be sent in a letter or placed at the checkout or on a stand with postcards.
To preserve the logic of the narrative, inside the booklet there was a description of all the courses, and on the outside, the information was grouped into two pairs. The most important pair is contacts and the title page, the inner pair is the description of the project and the course schedule. To reduce printing costs, the inner side is made in a single color, and the poor quality of photographs is compressed by overlaying color hemispheres.
To help the course participants find their way around and avoid too often asking for help from the farm shop staff, the project leader wanted to put up a sign that could be used to gather group members.
On the one hand, the narrow vertical form of the sign is clearly visible from any point of the parking lot, and on the other hand, it does not hide the landscape and the view of the playground for parents who have gone shopping, but at the same time are looking after the children left to play.
The contact code and contacts keep the opportunity to get more information about the project to everyone who comes to the farm or playground in case they have not seen other project information materials.
